Want a wildlife career?

There are many directions to take when choosing a career with wild animals:

If you do choose to get a college education, majors in zoology, animal science, marine biology, etc., are the most beneficial. However, there are teaching zoos available. One is in Moorpark, CA. It is a division of the Moorpark Community College called EATM (Exotic Animal Training and Management). They have an on-site zoo run by the students. It's highly competitive to get accepted into the two-year program. It's very challenging, inexpensive, and the school will place you in a position upon graduation. Majors include: trainer/handler, zoo management, education, research, etc. You can contact Moorpark at (805) 378-1400 for a catalog, or e-mail their director Gary Wilson.
